When I was a little girl my dad would always take me out on Sunday mornings for a drive. First up he would stop at the shop to get the Sunday newspaper and a little bag of sweets for me, then we would go on a lovely Sunday drive. One of our favourite places to go was the local beach and marina.
Yesterday Bailey begged me to take him to the local shops so that he could spend his Birthday money and I decided it was a nice enough day for us to take our own Sunday drive. So we headed for the beach and I have to say I really enjoyed myself. We walked along the shore and looked out at the little boats gently bobbing up and down, the pelicans gliding across the water and the birds lining up on the old pier. We stood on the dock and listened to the fishermen telling tall tails and then played eye-spy finding jellyfish and starfish in the water below the pier.
On the way home Bailey and I popped into McDonalds and enjoyed a delicious strawberry ice cream Sunday, yum! Bailey made me laugh when he asked if we should tell Nick and Dad what we had been up to, then he suggested we keep it as our secret and that we should do it again next Sunday. I think that’s a wonderful idea.

Have a great week everyone.

What a lovely post, Maddy. It reminded me of similar little trips my dad and I used to take when I was a little girl. Oh yes, I’ve done the Six Quirky Things wotsit. I now think I’m really odd!!!

It all looks so peaceful. Wonder if they are Heron’s. I guess the water is cold where you are right now.
Was a lovely gift that you received. Best Wishes for your upcoming weekend Maddy.
