Maddy’s Glass House

First off the bloggs today, Happy Birthday to my lovely baby Bailey, he has turned 11! I say that with a huge sigh, he just can’t be 11 years old already, where have the years gone?  But he had a great day yesterday, I let him stay home with me as he won’t get to do that again on his birthday for a very long time.

We spent the morning baking…

He chose four kinds of muffins, choc chip, vanilla, vanilla choc chip and, my personal favorite, orange and poppy seed.  We then topped them with bright blue butter icing with green, blue and orange sprinkles!

All in all it was a really nice day spent baking and icing and chatting with my boy who is growing up before my eyes.

And then this came along and reminded me that there is only three weeks of winter left…

My blog will be down for about five hours today so don’t worry, in the imortal words of the hunky Arny, “I’ll be back”!

Our babies grow up so fast - one minute they’re tiny little things and the next, they’re little men

Ohh, Happy Birthday Bailey! Looks like it was the best ever! How wonderful that you got to spend the day baking and enjoying the company of your lovely mum!

Maddy, my baby just started bootcamp for the Canadian Airforce on Sunday past . . . they do grow up so very fast. It seems like just yesterday we were celebrating his 11th birthday, sigh . . .

Happy Birthday Bailey - what a magical way to spend the day - baking blue iced muffins - I am inspired! we used to ice things with lurid colours when the kids were small - and watch as their more delicate friends refused to eat them! what am I talking about - they never had any delicate friends - they didn’t last 5 minutes!!
Enjoy him Maddy - Owen (my baby) is 18 and off to SE Asia in less than 2 weeks - they don’t hang around for long!!

    Hi Maddy,
Looks like a great birthday. I like the “muffin cake” idea.
Time does fly; my boy’s nine this month.
    And beautiful daffodils, very spring.
