I’d like to start by thanking all the people who have sent me so much love this week. I feel much better today and even got a full night sleep, it’s been hard not to roll onto my left side during the night without waking up in pain. But today I feel good. So once again, thank you all. It’s been a bit of a slow week due to the surgery, BUT while browsing in the local Newsagent I found two items that instantly lifted my spirits.
The first thing to catch my eye was the release of the Classic Drama series of DVD’s. I immediately bought Part 1, episodes 1-3 of the BBC series Pride and Prejudice with THAT Mr Darcy! However it wasn’t Mr Darcy I was after, no it was not, it was this handsome man … Richard Armitage.

I first saw drop dead gorgeous Richard in the BBC classic North and South and ever since then I have searched in vein for the DVD. Well it’s part of this new Classic Drama series. I just can’t wait for part 6 to come around.
I then found this magazine…

As I’ve been an avid watcher of the Australian and British series of Who Do You Think You Are I couldn’t resist. I’ve now read it from cover to cover and I’m seriously considering starting a subscription.
While on the subject of this show, the Aussie episodes are now on DVD and in the shops as we speak. It’s ages till Mothers Day and my birthday, and because I’m such a nice person, I may have to buy if for my husband … ahem!!
Ok I’m off to the shops, have a wonderful weekend all, and thank you for all the love.
TTFN

Thank you!

Maddy - Hi. Just saw this blog. Looks like you’re an Aussie. If you are, I found my copy of North and South at the ABC shop. Perhaps they were out of stock when you went looking. That’s just in case you don’t want to wait for the BBC Classics edition.
And, when the RA bug has thoroughly caught you, you’ll find most of his body of work at Amazon. And, can I thoroughly recommend to you his astonishing audiobook version of Bernard Cornwell’s Lords of the North? (It’s the unabridged version and you can really only get it through BBC audiobooks.)

Hey Maddy- My husband was in England in late October and brought that magazine back for me. I already have a subscription to You Family Tree magazine but I really liked the WDYTYA one too, I thought Natasha Kaplinski’s family story was really harrowing. We read all about things like this, or see modern day movies, but as she says, you really only feel it’s real when you can apply it to ordinary people and what they had to go through. I thought it a very sad tale. I’m going to the UK in April and intend picking up whatever I can from the shelf on the genealogy front!!
Take care,
Brenda
