The last week of my holidays was wonderful. I had a day filled with scrapbooking when my girlfriend Jo came over for the day, we even got to have leftover Lasagne and salad for lunch, yum!
Then I spent the day with Claire at Ikea. We shopped until we dropped as you can see from the photo, and had shrimp salad for lunch, also very yummy.

On Friday an old school friend, Donna, came for the day. We did Genealogy stuff all day with more yummy lunch, this time it was ham and salad. We got so wrapped up in our research that it was gone 2.30 before we even thought about stopping for lunch. We are going to have to do this more often.
All in all it’s been a great three weeks of annual leave.
Nick is all settled in high school. Although he has missed the bus twice now, the mobile phone was a good idea as he has had to text me to let me know he was on his way home and needed a lift to school. Tomorrow I’m setting his alarm for 6.30am and we will see if getting up 15 minutes earlier helps!
Bailey has enjoyed his first few weeks in grade 5 and has really matured a lot over the past month. He is very independent now and gets himself showered and dressed for school without any need to nag him. Very good progress there.
Red the wonder dog is missing the boys a lot. He got used to them being around all the time over the summer break and has been sitting near the back door waiting for them all day. He’s so cute.

And so today is my last full day of leave. I have, unfortunately got lots of folding and ironing to do but first of all I’m off to visit my Dad and do some scrapbook preparation for the coming year. My Dad and I meet once a week and scrapbook the family photos, this year we are doing “The Early Years”, it should be great fun.
Have a wonderful week everyone,
TTFN

Hi Maddy - hope you enjoy your last holiday day. It’s nice to hear your news and that the boys are doing well. I laughed about setting the alarm earlier and you having to take your son who missed the bus (sounds familiar)! Love the photo of Red. Happy scrapbooking wth your Dad. Oh and that Ikea duvet cover is great.

Hi Maddy, thanks for getting back to me with the flower details!! The new bed linen is wonderful - quite demure on top but WOW underneath! Love that kind of thing! You sound as if you have filled your summer break to bursting - in such good ways too! How lovely to be able to spend a regular time with your Dad like that!! I bet you both really look forward to your time together!
Good luck with the setting off earlier thing!! Let us know how he gets on!
