I learned two things from my last post. The first is that once you get people started they let it all out, note the size of the comments. And that I get far more comments when posts are about something creative and inspiring rather than miserable, whiney and self-indulgent! So I will limit my whinging to once in a while and keep the creative stuff coming, it did feel good to get it all off my chest though!

Out in my garden most of the veg are nearing their end but my flowers are in full bloom. The fennel has been harvested, as have most of the tomatoes with just a few still to ripen. The basil is getting there but didn’t grow as fast as the tomatoes so next year I think I will plant seedlings of basil rather than seeds. I will be making a lasagna tonight for dinner and I will use mostly home grown, organic ingredients. The tomato and garlic are from the veggie patch and the basil, rosemary and a little oregano from the herb garden.

I’m off to Ikea this week with a girlfriend and I am so excited. I have browsed their web site and made my selection of the things I’d like to get. Don’t you often find though that once you get in the shop the item you have come for looks nothing like the catalogue? Hmm well we will see on Thursday.

With that said I’ll leave you with some of the pretty stuff going on in my back yard.

It seems so strange to see all this bounty when we in England are in mid winter and everything is still in hibernation.
