Many of you may recall that I have been looking for a living relative on my family tree named Sandra. After many months of searching I’m so happy to report that I’ve not only found Sandra, I’ve chatted to her on the phone! It’s all thanks to Marie over at Marie’s Muses who suggested I try Genes Reunited. I signed […]

I’d like to start by thanking all the people who have sent me so much love this week. I feel much better today and even got a full night sleep, it’s been hard not to roll onto my left side during the night without waking up in pain. But today I feel good. So once again, […]

Yesterday was long, stressful and slightly emotional. I went into hospital for some plastic surgery on my ear as I had a tumour growing and it was blocking the hearing in that ear by 50%.
My day began around 6.30 with a coffee. I needed to fast for 6 hours before surgery at 11am, which meant I should have been up at 5am for breakfast, […]

I’m back at work, sigh, and as we all know it doesn’t take long to feel like you never had a holiday at all. I loved my three weeks off and felt very relaxed all week at work and even found the time flew by, which is a good thing.

And that I get far more comments when posts are about something creative and inspiring rather than miserable, whiney and self-indulgent! So I will limit my whinging […]

Nicholas enjoyed his first day at high school. I did what most of my friends were doing and sat around worrying all day. Not that I had a single thing to worry about, after all we went to a lot of trouble to select a school with high standards, it’s not like the school is full of […]

You have grown up so fast.
Your feet are the same size as your Dads.
Your hands are bigger than my hands.
You wake-up to an alarm clock, on your own, without my help.
You wear a tie to school.
And today you begin a new journey.
And I am so very proud of you.
Good luck sweetheart, see you at 3.30….
