And the award for most popular Mr Darcy goes to ………… Colin Firth! Thank you to all those who have left a comment regarding their favourite Mr Darcy. My choice is still Matthew Macfadyen and I urge you to get the latest version of the movie on DVD, it’s great.

While we are on the subject of good movies, I spent a very hot and sticky afternoon sitting comfortably under my air conditioner watching a great movie called Stardust. If you are in need of something that will lift you up and make you laugh and smile then this is the movie for you. I enjoyed every minute, my favourite performance by far was that of Robert De Niro as the cross dressing, can can dancing, Captain Shakespeare.

I’ve had a really motivated few days with all sort of crafty bits getting done. I finished one of my scrapbooks, it has all it’s titles, journaling and page protectors on and now filed away to be treasured for many years to come.
While doing a little blog hopping, as you do, I found this fantastic paper globe to make over at HELLO my name is Heather . It was really easy to make and has lots of potential for differant applications, I can see one made with gold paper and hung on the Christmas tree or even lots of multi coloured globes hung around the garden for a party. To say it was easy is an understatement and if you have crafty kids they could defintely make them too.

Next up was a little project I’ve had on my work desk for months now, it’s one of those giant letters. I’ve seen them in magazines and on other peoples work desks, even in children’s bedrooms, and I just love them. But I really wanted my letter to reflect me and it’s taken me ages to find just the right colours and style. I decided on simple black and white with just a little red, it’s been said of me that there is no grey area, what you see is what you get. My full name, Madeline, is a little French so I wanted to say something about that. And finally I love florals so that had to be in there too. Here it is, let me know what you think.

And finally with all that crafting going on I really needed to tidy my work desk. I’ve been drooling over these containers for ages now but they are way out of my price range so what’s a girl to do? Make her own of course. I went to my favourite $2 Shop and picked up some boxes then popped to the local scrapbook supply shop and made a divine selection of papers. A few hours later and my desk is tidy.

One of my lovely nieces has just moved into a flat with her boyfriend so I’m off to have a nosy round and take them a house warming gift.

Would the real Mr Darcy please stand up…

Love the boxes and the M is just great. Has to be good Colin for me but really I prefer Toby Stephenson in Jayne Eyre (BBC version). Have you seen it?
