Hi Maddy. Have just found your website from a posting on the Cherry Menlove forum. What gorgeous leadlighting. You’re so talented. Thank you also for the genealogy hints. All of my family history is UK based - I emigrated back in 1969 and eventually married an Aussie. Have a Wonderful and Safe New Year.

Blessings for 2008 Maddy. Thanks for sharing your Christmas feast with me, especially the Alka-Seltzer!
6.30 a.m. I am so glad those days have past. 7.30 a.m to put the turkey in was just about manageable.

    Hi
Saw your letter on the Shipley web site requesting information on Linton Camp. This special residential school is located just outside the village of Linton In Craven, very near to Grassington, near Skipton in North Yorkshire. I was a pupil there but not at the time your dad was. I was there in 1957 for a few months returning in 1961 until I left school and started working in 1964 at age 15. It was closed about 1984 and gradually ruined by travellors and vandals, some buildings still survive, the land being taken over by a local farmer, Metcalfs I think.
Attempts were made to use as a times share holiday center but the council would not allow this. Great shame. One of the teachers who was working there in the early days lives in Threshfield, Miss Suttle (Jess)was her maiden name, she married a George Robson, who was deputy head in my time, and I think both were there at the end, sadly George passed away in the 80’s we kids knew him as “Cheezy”. I met with Jess Robson a couple of years ago, she must be about 86 now, sent me a Christmas card last month, as I her, bless. I will dig out a photo or two and send you if you advise if interested still.
    Best regards
