Scrap scrap scrap!

October 30th, 2007

What a weekend, I had a ball at the retreat and got all the photos I took with me finished.  The retreat we go to is an hours drive into the country side and once there you are forced to relax and have fun, no mobile service means no interruptions ha ha ha!  All your meals are cooked for you and the lovely Doreen has the tables set and ready to go.

This is the view from your cabin when you wake in the morning.

Here are the girls.

The long tables are perfect for getting stuck in!

And finally here are some of the pages I completed,  this first one was my favourite for the weekend.

I had this one lone photo of my son Nicholas at the beach in mid winter.  I love this photo so much and felt it deserved a page of it’s own, by extending the sky, sea and shore line I got it to take up an entire page.

These next two were made using the new love of my life … the Sizzix machine.   Twin sisters at the retreat had brought along their Sizzix lettering machine which they generously allowed me to trial.  I am now frantically scouring the Internet to find myself one of these majic machines which makes fantastic letters in seconds.

This final page had me holding back the tears, it’s of Nick’s first day at 3 year old kindergarten.  He’s about to finish primary school and go to high school, when I look back at these photos I can’t believe how fast the last nine years have gone.

If you get a chance to go on a retreat like this I would highly recommend it.  I got so much work done and enjoyed the company of all these inspiring ladies as well.  Oh and the boys were fine, pizza, movies and plenty of time on the Xbox playing against their Dad, I don’t even think they noticed I was gone!

Have a great week everyone.

Looks like you had lots of fun, and were feeling better. You do nice work, I have never tried to do scrap booking, it looks addicting.
