I Aloe Vera tissues!

October 25th, 2007

Sniff, cough, splutter, sneeeeeez, blow … sniff!  I am sick, SICK.  I have a head cold and it’s really ugly.  Sniff. I have a huge red nose, you may call me Rudolf if you wish but teasing me may cause me to sneeze at which point you will regret being so close to me!  Sniff.  I have four boxes of tissues placed in all rooms of the house, two packets of throat lozenges and I am currently sipping a Lemsip, the best invention ever along with adding aloe vera to tissues.  Sniff.  OK enough feeling sorry for myself, time for some blog news. Sniff.

This weekend I am heading off on my second Scrabooking retreat, yeah, 48 hours of non-stop scrapbooking.  My bags are packed and ready along with lots of scrappy supplies and lollies.  I have organised all my photos and this time I will be taking two albums to work on, last time I ran out of photos and ended the weekend making cute cut outs and journaling.  My husband and the boys are sure to miss me heeps, NOT, and will probably run-a-muck while I’m away.  They plan on eating loads of smelly currys, which they love, watching Kung Fu movies as well as playing on the Xbox till midnight and drinking lots of fizzy stuff.  I on the other hand will be in crafty heaven. Sniff.

Red the wonder dog has been naughty and eaten Baileys brand new bike helmet, which by the way, he needed desperately for a week of bike ed at school.  Red’s tally of destruction is long; he has eaten the tennis ball off the end of the orbit tennis, my back door mat, a Camellia plant and a chili plant, four pairs of children’s underwear (don’t ask) and his latest tasty treat are my bulbs!  I feed him, honestly I do, but still he finds other stuff is far more appetizing!  And just like your cute toddler, he looks at you with those big beautiful eyes and what can you do?  Sniff.

I trust you will all enjoy a wonderful weekend, I know I will!  Sniff.

I hope you have a great weekend and are feeling better, that sounds like fun (the getting away and scrapping). Too funny about your dog Red, I can relate. We had a dog that chewed a huge hole in our tent a few days before our camping trip.

Hi Maddy, first ime as a visitor. As a headteacher I was appalled to read that school and kindergarten had failed to communicate. What a licky boy to have you as his mum, and progress has been great. Our mantra at school is look at the child, not the behaviour. Thanks for sharing your Bailey’s story, I love the ‘institution’ stroy - Harvard would be a great answer for whoever was crass enough to talk about a child in this way. Hope the cold’s better and that crafting for the weekend lifted your spirits!
Thanks for opening your hearts - and educationalist eyes!
