Mail, I just love mail.

October 9th, 2007

When I got home from work yesterday I was feeling tired, stressed and just a bit fed up.  The first thing I heard when I walked through the doors was “Mum you’ve got mail, quick come and see”.  Now they are words to cheer the heart and lift any girls spirits.  Not only did I have one parcel, I had TWO parcels, now that’s good mail.

Before I start bragging go any further I would first like to say a huge thank you to Melly and Rosie over at Melly and Me for the wonderful parcel they have sent me following their “100th post giveaway”.  The workmanship in each piece is amazing, not a stitch in sight and if you can see the stitches they are small and neat and beautiful.  So this is for you girls …

Now let me show you what was in my wonderful parcel.  Each lovely hand made article was carefully wrapped in tissue and adorned with ribbon or ric rac, which I will put to good use in my sewing.  The Little Kitty is so soft and beautifully made, even her dress is lined!  The softie and Little Kitty are going to my husband’s nephew and his wife who recently gave birth to their first child, a sweet little girl named Makayla Dawn.  And I can’t wait for December when I can put the heart and angel on my Christmas tree.  I will also be making good use of the log cabin camera/phone case.  Thank you once again girls, I love them.

Gifts, wonderful gifts.

Now speaking of phones, the other parcel that arrived was from FedEx and contained my new wonderful, beautiful, glamorous, Prada mobile phone.  I saw this beauty in the local phone shop displayed in a glass case no less, a little like the modern version of Cinderellas glass slipper, and instantly fell in love.

I gazed at if for ages through the shop window and then ventured in only to find out it was valued at $1000!! Boo hoo I cried, my measly part-time bank teller wage will never allow such luxury.  I did however come home with the brochure which I read from cover to cover.  I pathetically stroked the brochure and showed it to anyone who would listen.

My husband was either feeling sorry for me or just fed up with my huge sighs every five minutes and suggested I look on eBay for one that may be within my puny budget … what  a good idea.  I logged on, entered Prada LG and ta da, there it was in all its glory.  The very best part was the price,  1/2 the cost of the shop, still expensive for a  phone but 50% less expensive.

My wonderful husband said “go on, buy it” and before he could change his mind I hit “buy now” and it was done.  This was last Thursday evening, by Friday lunch time it was paid for and to my astonishment delivered to my door yesterday, now that’s good service.  So I imagine you are all dying to see this wonderful, beautiful, glamorous, Prada LG mobile phone that I have raved about for four paragraphs ….

It came in a huge box, with it’s own leather case and polishing cloth, as it should.  It has no buttons and is all touch screen.  It sings to me when I get a text message “you’ve got mail” and has the grooviest wallpapers to choose from.  It has a digital camera, a video camera, a radio, it can play MP3’s and you can check your email and surf the net.  And the best bit … you can phone your friends too, now isn’t that amazing.

With all these wonderful parcels arriving I know I am the luckiest girl in the world.  Now I need to come back down to earth and get on with the housework!
