Last week was wonderfully filled with loads of family celebrations. We began with Bailey turning ten and finished the week with my beautiful niece, Meagan, turning 21. Congratulations Meagan. She partied till 7am on Sunday morning, oh to be that young and fit again!

My 12 year old son, Nicholas, is growing up on me way too fast and this weekend when friends came to visit asked if he could have a photo with their daughter, Ashley. As they were getting ready to leave he came running outside yelling “oh wait I need to have my photo taken with Ashley to show the guysâ€.

I’ve had some time this week to do a little home decorating. I got my kitchen dresser a couple of years ago now and have always felt it needed a little touch of something but I couldn’t quit put my finger on what it was. While browsing in my favourite home decorating shop I found the perfect touch, three ceramic knobs, I love them to bits and they really bring out the blue china in the dresser.

One of the things I most love in winter is my citrus trees. We have a lemon, mandarin and lime tree in the garden and the fruit is abundant. Last week I sliced up several lemons and lined my baking try with them. I then layer fish fillets on them and bake it all in the oven, it was just delicious. Â
I have finally found some oilcloth, which I fell in love with after browsing Cath Kidstones web site. As she is all the way over there in the UK the cost of buying fabric from her web site was prohibitive so I went searching and luckily for me found just what I was looking for, some bright red and white polka dot oilcloth. I am going to make some funky new place mats and a table runner to jazz up the dinner table for the quickly approaching spring.

Thank you to all those who have dropped by lately, my site counter has grown enormously of late. Please feel free to say hello in the comments section, I’d love to know who drops by and don’t worry if you don’t have a blog of your own, we won’t hold that against you
  Â
Have a lovely week everyone.Â

Oh those were the days when we could party until the early hours and not be exhausted for days afterwards! Before children, I think. Love the ceramic knobs, everytime I see those I want to use them somewhere, I do have some on a chest of drawers.
