And so the world waits with anticipation for the final Harry Potter book to be released at 9.01am here in Aus.  My son Nicholas has received his letter to say his pr-ordered copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be waiting for him at the bookshop, as have millions of other muggles around the world.  What will happen to Harry, Ron and Hermoine?  Will Voldermort win or lose?  And what will JK Rowling do with her time now she has finished this epic journey?

I have loved the Harry Potter series of books, my husband and boys included.  Hasn’t it been a wonderful in-site into a world we can only imagine.  Anyone who has read even the first book can imagine what it would be like to be a thoroughly modern  wizard!  My favorit carictor has always been Rubeus Hagrid, played by Robbie Coultrane in the movies , I just love him to bits.

If you would like a bit of fun pop over to JK Rowling’s official web site, this “almost a blog“ site is filled with information and the secret door is finally open so click on the rubber to read a few words from HRH JK.  There are 12 secrets for you to find and store in you very own scrapbook.  I will give you a hint to get you started, move everything, click on everything, even the rubbers, pens, phone and radio work.

Here in sunny Australia it’s mid winter and this morning I awoke to 1′, yes just 1′ and it’s f f f f freeeezing cold.  The garden has taken on a beautiful diamond like shimmer and even my bird bath has frozen over.

I’m still on annual leave and have been able to catch up with my lovely friend Claire who is visiting from Dubai.  Once again she has spoilt us rotten with gifts, including a massive bottle of plonk, don’t you just love duty free!  My husband has been very inspired by their journey and is now considering applying for a job in Dubai, I’ve been madly revamping his resume.  So keep your fingers crossed for us and maybe by the end of the year we will be heading for new horizons on the adventure of a lifetime.

This has been a funny old week for me.  I’m on leave and had a list a mile long of things I wanted to get done, but for some reason I just couldn‘t get myself going.  I did however do a little retail therapy and feel a bit better today, new stuff will do that for me now and then.  I’m not normally a shopper, I like to replace and upgrade every now and then but if I don’t need it I can normally do without it.  Not so this week, I found myself buying two new door mats, new earrings, two new tops, four kitchen gadgets, gifts and cards to send home with Claire and the best buy of all … a new bag!

With all that therapy under my belt I’d better get on with all those important things on my “to do list”.

Have a very wonderful weekend everyone,

TTFN

We all trooped off to our local supermarket at midnight for the book, and the queue was amazing - right across the carpark, and it was raining, so Thomas braved it for us while Lawrie and me sat in the car!
By the way I had no idea it snowed in Australia, love the pic of the kangaroo poo in the snow.
