A Beautiful Gift.

July 3rd, 2007

My wonderful girlfriend Claire, who is living in Dubai, has sent me the most gorgeous parcel for my birthday.  The  card has the sweetest words and the purse is delicately detailed and made from luxurious Indian silk.  Inside the purse was a beautiful bit of bling for my phone which I immediately attached.  My phone has been floundering in the bottom of my handbag, flat and out of credit for months, newly inspired I recharged it and then dashed down to the shops and got some credit.  Thank you so much Claire, I can’t wait to see you later this week.

The boys are on their mid-year school holidays and today we plan to go to the movies, I’m sure it will be an action movie, although I wouldn’t mind seeing Nancy Drew!  We have been trialing a new holiday program … the stay at home on your own kind.  As I work three and a half days a week my parents have been needed to *baby sit* the boys but now they are getting older I think it’s time I started trusting them to spend some time at home, unsupervised.  Appart from that it will give my parents some of their time back.  Yesterday was our first trial of the new program with Mum arriving an hour after I had gone to work.  When I rang to see how things had gone Mum said the boys were engrossed in Xbox’s and DVD’s and hardly noticed her arrival … so I guess it’s all going to work out just fine.  It’s such a worry that they will get into mischief or have an accident, not that I don’t trust them because they are wonderful boys and very well behaved.  It’s a little sad really as it’s obvious they are growing up so quickly and it wont’ be long before they are learning to drive and getting part time jobs.  I think deep down I had hoped they would have been just a little bit naughty  …… big sigh!

Have a lovely week everyone.

Hi Maddy. What an inspiring post. You must feel so blessed. I have just caught up with your last 4 posts. The stained glass windows are magnificent when viewed together like that. Liked the view of Woodend too.
