Last Sunday it was cold and wintry and I decided rather that sit around the house doing nothing we should go on a family drive into the country side, an old fashioned Sunday Drive.  Following breakfast I packed the family up and plonked them in the car and away we went.  

Our first stop was the lovely rural town of Woodend.  It was a tad chilly but really beautiful.  We strolled along the street popping in and out lovely antique, book and garden shops.

We encountered a rather large but very stylish pig.

After a wonderful stroll along the street trying on hats and reading books we found we had left it a bit late for lunch and every restaurant was packed to the rafters so we decided that we’d move on to Kynton.  By the time we reached Kynton it was twenty past two and only one pub was still serving lunch, luckily for us they had a table for four just waiting for us.  An hour later we are filled with plumpshasness and a glass of wine so it’s back on the road.  Unfortunately the weather has turned and it’s pelting down and very very cold so we decide our day is done and we will head for home …. oh but wait is that an antique shop I see?  Yes more shops to potter about in and then it’s time for home. 

What a lovely day out we had and a delightful lunch too … just perfect.  I’ll finish my post with a lovely window I spotted in Woodend.
