Today was beautiful, busy but beautiful. 

It all began with the end of Nicholas’s birthday sleepover which sadly may be one of the last as next year he will be in high school and I’m not sure high school kids do sleepovers.  Anyhoo we’d had a late night and this morning  I was feeling rather grumpy as I had so much to do today and I was feeling tired.  When I drew the curtains I found it was one of those clear, sunny but chilly winter mornings which immediately made me feel better and with that my grump lifted.  I went out in the garden and spent a good half hour feeling the chill on my face and snapping away with the camera.  Here is another of my lovely camellia’s …

 

This afternoon we visited the local shopping centre picking out gifts for Nicholas for tomorrows big 12th birthday.  This evening I’ve baked his cake which this year is a pirate ship, it’s all about those Pirates don’t you know.  Tomorrow he’s being taken to the movies by his auntie as a present, isn’t she lovely and isn’t he so very lucky.  All his gifts are wrapped and on the couch waiting for him and the camera is charged.
