Well here we are, it’s Saturday again and another week has flown by. I really feel old saying that as I can remember being a young child and hearing adults saying “how time flies” and thinking they must be joking as it was an eternity till my next birthday and Christmas.Â
My week turned out to be quite eventful with Nick getting tangled up in some fighting with boys in his class.  A trip to see the principle was required followed by long talks about respecting one another blah blah blah! I was quietly proud of Nick as he stood up for himself against five boys who found it fun to push him around. My husbands advice to the boys has always been very old fashioned ”if anyone hits you hit them back” unlike my advice which is to walk away and avoid conflict. He did try Mum’s advice to ignore them but once they began to hurt him he defended himself. As a Mum I found it horrible that he had a fight but my husband assures me this is normal behaviour for school boys …. hmmm I’ll have to reserve my judgment on that one!
This morning we all headed down to the local craft and farmers market. The boys only go for the food which I have to admit is so fresh and delicious, they always get a suvolaki and home made lemonade, I get the bacon and egg bun which is just to die for. Today’s market was the last before winter and unfortunately not all the stall holders turned up but I was still able to spend my money, don’t you worry about that!

It’s Mothers Day weekend here in Australia and tomorrow I will spend the morning with my two lovely boys and then go and visit my Mum in the afternoon.Â
To all the lovely Mum’s out there in blogland ….. Happy Mothers Day!

Oh congratulations on your new blog home, its very beautiful.
Home made lemonade, you are making me very jelous, sounds delicious.
Isn’t it difficult when our little ones are treated unfairly and they have a hard time from a bully, but sounds like your son learned a good lesson about himself and his ability to work through it himself and sort it out. My 5 year old had a similar thing at school recently. It could have gone badly and ended up damaging her self esteem, but she stood up for herself with the help of the teacher, and I could physically see her stand proud and strong where a few days before she had been crying and afraid to go to the school that she loved so much. She loves going again, and touch wood, no more trouble.
Sorry I haven’t visited for ages, been mad busy, being spring on the smallholding.

Thank’s Rebecca, I am very pleased with the new blog and no more spam.
I’m so glad your daughter did well with the bully, it still makes me growl a little when I think about it.
I love the new additions to your family oink oink!
